Mayor of Newry and Mourne, Cllr Mick Murphy and the Joint Chair of the PEACE III Southern Partnership, Cllr Charlie Casey have launched an exciting new project that aims to integrate local minority ethnic and indigenous communities through the medium of blues and jazz music.
The ‘Newry & Mourne Multicultural Blues and Jazz Initiative’ is a partnership between the PEACE III Challenge of Change programme and the Blues on the Bay Festival and is supported by the European Union’s PEACE III Programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. Ian Sands of the Blues of the Bay Festival said: ‘We are inviting all blues and jazz musicians to come along to our very first multicultural blues and jazz night on Saturday, 19 February at 7pm in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre.’
Admission is free and the evening is also a family-friendly event.
